Starter x Palace Collaborate on a Capsule Collection
The Starter brand has teamed up with skateboard and apparel brand Palace on a capsule collection centered around football inspired styles that synergize oversized and skate-ready clothing. The key staples include football jersey, nylon warm up pullover, breakaway jacket, snapback cap and T’s. Both brands’ logos appear across black /white and mint color ways with the classic Starter font.
Starter, established in 1971, pioneered the fusion of sports clothing with popular culture by forging partnerships with major professional sports leagues including the NFL, NBA, NHL, and more. It all began with an iconic star logo and the idea that “Every athlete dreams of being a starting player.” But Starter didn’t stop at athletes, they extended across cultural lines, drawing influence from sport, music, and pop culture. Through the 80s and 90s it truly cemented its place in pop culture with major movie stars and the hip hop scene. Today the brand has just celebrated its 50th anniversary and continues to compete in the global sports & fashion arena.
Starter and Palace’s collaboration is set for both in-store and online releases starting August 12, 11 a.m EDT on the brand’s official webstore, and in Japan on August 13, 11 a.m JST on the Palace Japan webstore, and on the official “Palace_Skateboards” WeChat store August 13, 11 a.m CST.
UMBRO LAUNCHES YOUTH APPAREL AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT AT JCPENNEY
Umbro, the iconic British soccer brand, announces a new collection of youth apparel and sports equipment at JCPenney.
The new collection encompasses Boys and Girls apparel, as well as soccer balls and cleats, and will feature classic Umbro styles such as jerseys and checkboard shorts. Available online and in select stores, items will have retail price points ranging from $18 for t-shirts to $40 for track jackets and hoodies.

ICONIX INTERNATIONAL COMPLETES GLOBAL ACQUISITION OF ATHLETIC BRAND PONY
New York, NY – May 9, 2022 – Brand management company Iconix International . has now completed the acquisition of the global rights across all product categories to the PONY brand (excluding China and Taiwan), from Hong Kong based company Symphony Holdings Ltd. Iconix will leverage their expertise in operating athletic and lifestyle brands to maximize the value of PONY by uniting the global PONY brand rights under one roof. The global brand will be run from Iconix’s New York City office, bringing a united PONY brand back to its roots.

The timing of the acquisition coincides with a big moment for the heritage athletic brand, as 2022 marks PONY’s 50th anniversary.

Umbro and Rowing Blazers Team Up for a Capsule Collection
Youthful and irreverent clothing brand Rowing Blazers has announced a collaboration with leading football (soccer) apparel and equipment brand Umbro. The two brands come together for a limited-edition twelve-piece collection that will be sold exclusively on the Greenhouse app, at select Foot Locker locations, and at rowingblazers.com.
The twelve-piece capsule features three classic Umbro styles – soccer jerseys, field jackets, and soccer shorts – reimagined with iconic Rowing Blazers signature patterns and fabrics including its trademark croquet stripe, the gun club check house tweed pattern, navy/red zig-zag stripe, and a classic Gordon Modern tartan. “We (Rowing Blazers) don’t normally blast our logo on product, but to see Rowing Blazers in the sponsor logo placement on an Umbro jersey was too good to pass up,” says Jack Carlson, founder of Rowing Blazers. “I grew up with Umbro. Living in England as a little kid in the early ‘90s, it was the weekend uniform. “During the week, the school blazer was quite literally the uniform. Umbro was innovative in creating patterned soccer jerseys. Their sublimated geometric patterns, the creative use of stripes, even tartan — and of course their famous checkerboard design — have always been inspiring to me. I collect soccer jerseys too, and love wearing the funkier ones. A good, collared soccer jersey in an unusual pattern often beats a polo… And I basically live-in soccer shorts when it’s warm out.
